Seven films in her kitty, dance shows and jatra — it seems Locket Chatterjee doesn’t have any time left for herself.
“My diary is booked for the coming months and I’m enjoying it to the hilt,” gushes the actor. She has just completed Ravi Kinnagi’s film and will start shooting for Gourav Pande’s Suknolankha opposite Mithun Chakraborty and Neelanjan’s untitled debut venture. Two more projects are on her agenda, to be directed by Sanghamitra Chowdhury and Aniket Roy. At present, Locket is simultaneously shooting for three flicks — a Swapan Saha venture, where she essays the role of Prosenjit Chatterjee’s sister, Jayanta Basu’s Choker Aloye, where she plays the parallel lead with Rachna Banerjee and Raj Mukherjee’s untitled film opposite Tapas Pal. So, is she bidding adieu to the small screen? “Not at all. If anything meaty comes my way, I’m game! I’m an actor, so it doesn’t matter whether it’s the silver screen or TV. I sign a project only if I find it interesting,” she says. After a super duper jatra hit last year, she will now be seen in Manusher Bhagoban opposite Chiranjeet.
“I love stage shows because that’s the only medium where you can come close to the audience,”she adds. Eight years in the industry and only two awards. Doesn’t it perturb her? “The love of the audience is my award, so these things don’t affect me at all.” she smiles.
